Very dark decor generally in all areas, difficult to find room number as door was in an alcove and the number to the side not on door. I am 5’2” and when I eventually found the towel rail because it was above the toilet it was difficult to negotiate and find the size of towel I needed without pulling them all out. General lack of information in the room I found the A4 piece of paper as I was leaving TV was difficult to operate with a foreign language on some of the remote buttons and no news channel available. I slept really well which was the most important thing

I emailed the hotel direct a week before arrival asking for a quiet room away from the lifts. On check in we found our room opposite the lift. Spoke to reception who said they hadn’t received the email but swiftly changed our room which was much appreciated. The room was clean and comfortable. Obviously the hotel is very old so the floorboards were on a slant and creaked which meant you could hear the people above moving around. Location is central to everything you would need. We were staying to go to an event at the arena and it was a perfect choice for us.

Clean hotel in a very central location close to everything you need. Rooms are very spacious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in the middle of the nightlife so noise is an issue if you're in a room overlooking (which we were) but it's a small price to pay for proximity.

Really great central location. Was greeted by a friendly member of staff. Room was small but we had picked the smaller room option as knew we wouldn't be in the room much. Despite small room it had all amenities we needed. Clean comfortable bed, bathroom was clean and well stocked.

The smallest room I have ever seen in the UK and I have stayed at many hotels for work. The staff even joked saying they had smaller... Welcome. To japan in Nottingham folks

A lovely little hotel with great location into Nottingham. Unfortunately you can hear every conversation on the corridor of your room and also because it’s such an old hotel the floor was completed sloping. It felt as if we were on a boat. The decor is quirky and well done but because of the slope the bed was very uneven and mean that we found ourselves rolling towards one side meaning we couldn’t sleep well. Surely something could be done to level the bed, even with the severe slope of the floor? The room was tiny and only just enough room to get around the bed. The breakfast was very nice, probably one of the best we’ve had.

Brilliant stay, excellent sleep and quirky cosy room. I loved the look and feel of the hotel and it was surprisingly quiet even facing the Main Street. However bathroom window looked out onto the Main Street and the blind in that room was held up with masking tape. Only because I am tall could I safely hold the blind up to the ceiling and pull it up and down to shut it. Hair dryer was dangerous to use too, clearly broken, made a terrible noise and elements glowed bright red inside. Couldn’t use it. Informed desk as I left, they already knew about the blind(?) and acknowledged the hairdryer,
